The arrival of summer in Italy is marked by long evenings, fresh seasonal ingredients, and meals meant to be enjoyed slowly among family and friends. It is a time when simple recipes, passed down through generations, take centre stage and showcase the true beauty of Italian cooking.

Join wine expert Trent Mayers and Chef Francesca from Bacio Trattoria for an authentic four-course Italian dining experience inspired by the Flavours of Italy in June. This carefully crafted menu celebrates the rustic dishes found throughout Italy, where quality ingredients and tradition come together to create unforgettable meals.

Begin with Cime di Rapini Ripassate, rapini prepared in the classic Italian style with garlic and white wine. Continue with the timeless simplicity of Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, one of Italy’s most beloved pasta dishes. The evening then features hearty Polpette Giganti, traditional Italian meatballs served with seasonal vegetables, before concluding with a delightful Cono alle Fragole, a sweet strawberry-filled dessert that perfectly captures the spirit of summer.

Each course will be expertly paired with wines selected by Trent to complement the flavours of the menu while exploring the regions, traditions, and stories behind the wines. Throughout the evening, guests will discover why certain wines elevate particular dishes and gain insights into the principles of successful food and wine pairing.
