The Italian Winter Kitchen

A four-course exploration of the traditional flavours of Rome in the heart of winter.

To truly know Italian food, you must understand its regionality.  In Rome, winter cooking is rooted in restraint and resourcefulness with dishes shaped by the season, built from humble ingredients, and elevated through technique rather than excess. The Italian Winter Kitchen brings that philosophy to the table in an intimate, thoughtfully paced four-course dinner that reflects how Romans truly eat during the colder months.

Hosted by Bacio Trattoria and Wine Journeys, this evening is designed for those who appreciate not only what’s on the plate, but what’s in the glass. Each course is paired with wine, with insights shared throughout the evening to explore how flavour, balance, and tradition work together at the table.

Antipasto

Crostini con Salsiccia
Toasted rustic bread topped with seasoned sausage.

Primo

Vellutata di Patate e Zucchine
A silky, comforting soup of potato and zucchini.

Secondo

Salsicce alla Romana con Lenticchie
Slow-braised pork sausage served with lentils, a deeply traditional Roman winter dish.

Dolce

Affogato alla Nutella
Vanilla gelato topped with Nutella and finished with hot espresso.

This is not a themed dinner or a reinterpretation, it’s an honest expression of Roman winter cooking: unfussy, flavour-driven, and deeply satisfying.
