Famille Cattin Pinot Gris 2017

Famille Cattin Pinot Gris 2017

Alsatian Pinot Gris is such a different wine compared to Pinot Grigio even if the same grape. It’s rich, unctuous, off dry, brimming with stone fruit, pear, honey, apple, and citrus. Good pairing with chorizo, but would be a great pairing with Thai curry.

Featherstone Estate Cabernet Franc 2016

Featherstone Estate Cabernet Franc 2016

The 2016 from Featherstone Estate Winery is very good Cab Franc. Medium deep purple in the glass with ripe blackberry and tobacco at the beginning and finishing with raspberry and red cherry. It really is seriously good and good value at just under $20 plus it’s available at Vintages. #wine #barrie#downtownbarrie #alliston #orillia #collingwood#bradford #newmarket #simcoecountyliving#livinginsimcoecounty

Ravine Sand & Gravel Redcoat 2014

Ravine Sand & Gravel Redcoat 2014

This is a Bordeaux style blend leaning towards more Merlot in 2014 vintage. There’s a little blueberry on the nose, but the flavours of red currants, cherries, plums, and cedary spice on the palate. It’s a very good #wine for your red meats or grilled portobello mushrooms. #barrie#downtownbarrie#alliston#orillia#collingwood#bradford#newmarket#simcoecountyliving#livinginsimcoecountyRavine Vineyard Estate Winery

Niagara College Dean’s List Pinot Noir 2010

Niagara College Dean’s List Pinot Noir 2010

This is the Niagara College Canada Dean’s List Pinot Noir 2010 aged in Canadian oak. Should have opened it a bit sooner. It’s mature, and perhaps a little past its prime, with pine, cedar, forest floor, and some cherry fruit. Still a pretty good accompaniment for filet mignon. #barrie#downtownbarrie#alliston#orillia#collingwood#bradford#newmarket#simcoecountyliving#livinginsimcoecounty
